The Developer

Disgustify is made by Norwegian iOS developer Johan Tidemann Esbjug, who builds apps he hopes can help people move toward a better life. The idea is strange, but it is made with a real hope that it can quiet cravings, and it is an attempt at the kind of craving intervention scientists have been discussing.

Safety

If food feels frightening, compulsive, or connected to an eating disorder, please do not use Disgustify as a substitute for care. A clinician, dietitian, or trusted local service can help you choose a safer path.

Privacy and photo processing

When you request an image edit, your selected photo is sent to Disgustify's Cloudflare Worker and xAI's image editing API so the app can create the result. Saved before-and-after images stay in your on-device library unless you share them. Disgustify does not use your photos for ads or tracking.

Subscriptions and billing

Disgustify's core image-editing tools require an active Apple subscription. Apple handles subscription billing, cancellation, refunds, and payment details through your Apple ID.

Deleting saved images

Open Library, choose an aversion image, and tap Delete. The app removes both the original and transformed image from local storage.
